ALL - Activision Exploring Options After Merge With Blizzard

Activision has just confirmed a streamline of some of Vivendi Games' top gaming franchises, which inludes the following: Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, Ice Age, Prototype, and another game that is yet to be announced.

A representative from Activision has revealed that those games mentioned above were the only ones from Vivendi that will come out of the publisher. This could then leave lots of questions regarding a few high-profile franchises like Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, World at Conflict: Soviet Assault, 50 Cent Blood on the Sand, Zombie Wranglers, Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust, and a few Xbox Live Arcade titles.

The said Activision representative had this to say: “The only franchises that Activision Publishing will release are based on Crash Bandicoot, Ice Age, and Spyro, as well as Prototype and on other game that has not yet been announced.” Then, he further adds, “we are reviewing our options regarding those titles that we will not be publishing.”

What the said press release failed to detail though with regards to its other publishing arms such as Blizzard Entertainment and Activision Value. Hence, they could be among those they were considering upon the review.

They are currently exploring several options regarding Massive Entertainment, Swordfish Studios, Vivendi Games Mobile, and Sierra Online- this may mean eventually selling off or full-out closure.

Two eagerly anticipated titles, Ghostbusters and Brutal Legend, were on the list of games "in limbo" but both have since been confirmed to still be in production and not affected by current happenings.
