ALL - Activision Possibly "Threatened By The Competition"- Analyst
Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey has once again made a bold statement regarding a few unwelcome benefits of creating a great title. He revealed that with the success of Activision's Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk franchises, there may emerge some major competition that could prove to be “damaging for growth prospects.”
When talking about competition for Activision's Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk, it could only refer to Harmonix's Rock Band (Xbox 360, PS3) and EA's Skate (Xbox 360, PS3). Hickey further notes that Rock Band is also a great option as a music game, which could spell trouble for Activision and its Guitar Hero game series.
But he adds that the addition of new music peripherals to the Guitar Hero series will help boost the game and enable it to stay afloat despite tremendous amount of competition.
