ALL - Creative Director Lays The Smack Down On Smackdown vs RAW 2008
As THQ's WWE Smackdown vs Raw's (PS3, PS2, PSP) November 13 release date is fast approaching, lots of fans are excited to see how this latest installment from the franchise will turn out on the next-gen consoles. Cory Ledesma, the game's creative director, responded to some of these issues, as well as some other features that fans can look forward to in the game.
The most apparent issue for Smackdown 2008 would probably be the lack of luster in terms of the character roster, which fans would have expected to get an update, considering this is a sports game with a yearly installment. Ledesma said that it would be impossible to update the content of the game, especially when the new people involved would come out just when the game is about to be released, and they'd have no time to change or add the content.
Ledesma also addressed the fact that Xbox 360 gamers can play online via Xbox Live, which is something that the Playstation 2 cannot support. Not only that, Xbox gamers can also customize the music for their fighter's entrance sequences, among many other features.
In response to this, THQ assures gamers that they recognize the importance of online gaming, and is looking to offer more online features for this game.
