ALL - ESA Endorses "New E3"
Sometime today IDG will be making the official announcement that they will be organizing a consumer-oriented games-based trade show next October. This show has received the endorsement of the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), who had run the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) the past 11 years.
Exhibitors will be allowed to sell products during the event, according to IDG, and tickets to the event are expected to run about $100 US. This show is meant to be a mass-attendance event much like the old E3 and will attempt to recreate the ¨buzz´ that the old E3 did.
the date and location remain the same as reported before, October 18-20, 2007 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Besides the show floor flled with publishers, developers, platform holders, retialers, etc. there will also be competitions and lots of room for attendees to meet and mingle.
There is one change from what was previously reported here- the name. This expo will not be called the GamePro Expo as initialy reported. The actual name? That´s for gamers to decide!
IDG is running a contest asking gamers to submit a new name for the event. This contest is running through to November 20 so there is a bit of time left to submit your ideas. The prize for winning entry should interest you- 2 round trip tickets to LA and entry to the event, hotel room and local transportation. The winner will be announced on November 21.
This contest is open to US residents age 13 and up. If you would like to submit your entry just head to this site. Be sure to send us pics if you get picked,ok?
