ALL - Japanese Console Sales Report, Handhelds Reign Supreme
Although the DS has remained as the top selling handheld system in Japan, the Sony PSP has however closed in on the gap, according to the latest numbers from Media Create.
After the DS sold a total of 79,370 units last week, the PSP managed to sell 77,933 units over the same period. Quite close, huh?
Coming in closely is the Wii with 74,500 consoles sold, and the PS3 follows fourth although at a far-cry 34,363 units. Meanwhile, the PS2 is holding its own with 11,364 units.
The Xbox 360, on the other hand, is left in the dust after managing only 4,296 total sales. As for the software sales, Wii's Wii Fit was the top game for the week, with PSP's Winning Eleven 2008 securing the second spot. Third is PS2's Lucky Star, Wii Sports come in at fourth, while fifth was Mario and Sonic At The Olympic Games.
