ALL - Japanese Weekly Software/ Hardware Sales (June 23-29/ 08)

In the latest result for Media Create charts in Japan, the Sony handheld system has once again reigned supreme in the hardware charts after leaving its opponents in the dust for another week on the top. When it comes to the software side of things, there are five new titles that have managed to into the top list of games.

The tremendous increase in software sales in Japan as seen this past week has also helped boost the hardware sales. Leading the pack with 58,861 total sales is the PSP, while Nintendo's Wii and DS secured the 2nd and 3rd spots respectively.

As Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is slowly declining in sales, the PS3 also saw a drop in sales of over 2,000 units causing it to register only 17,973 unit sales. Meanwhile, the Xbox 360 is still trailing with only 5,104 units sold this week. Although at the bottom, the recent sales numbers for Xbox 360 is still a major improvement from last week's performance. Owe that increase in sales to Mobile Ops: The One Year War and Battlefield: Bad Company, which might have contributed to the boost in sales for the said console.

As was already mentioned above, there were new titles released this week. Entering this week in the charts is the DS version of the horse racing simulation, Derby Stallion – and yes, it entered with a bang by securing the top spot! Another impressive debut for this week is the Tales of Symphonia series spin-off, Tales Of Symphonia: Ratatosk no Kishi, released for the PS2 and GameCube. Meanwhile, the popular Daigasso! Band Brothers DX also entered the charts this week, garnering 120,000 sales to reach the third spot.
