Nintendo's Mario Kart Wii has been bumped off its top position in Japan's Media Create software charts. The said title has enjoyed its reign for eight weeks, and that was until Sega's Pro Yakyuu Team o Tsukyrou! caused the racing title giant to fall of the top spot as Japan's premiere video game for the week of May 19 through 25.

Meanwhile, Capcom's Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G has dominated the second position despite sliding down from the top spot. However, the said PSP title is the only one amongst a gang of all the other Nintendo titles who made it to the top 10 software chart.

As for the hardware sales charts, on the other hand, the PlayStation Portable is looking to be the console to beat after leaving its competition in the dust. With the numbers out, Sony's handheld console has managed to outsold the Wii from Nintendo by over 15,000 units. Both of Nintendo's DS and Wii is not even close to PSP despite the fact that the latter has dropped sales this week.
