ALL - Media Create Japan Weekly Software/ Hardware Charts (Week Ending Aug. 17/ 08)

For the past couple of weeks, Nintendo has been slowly but surely making its way on top of the chart. The latest figures from Japan's Media Create charts supports this as the DS handheld once again reigns supreme in the hardware charts, quite a long way ahead of the PSP. Meanwhile, Nintendo's Rhythm Tengoku Gold also ruled the software department.

Aside from ruling both charts, several other DS games also made some improvements in the software charts' top 10 list. Among those titles who made the list are Daigasso! Band Brothers DX, jumping seven spots, and DS' Meccha! Taiko no Tatsujin, which secures the 8th spot from its previous 22nd slot.

On the hardware department, things also look bright for the DS as its overtakes the PSP with a comfortable lead. Meanwhile, the Xbox 360 dropped further after it had a shortage of units in Japan.
