ALL - New Guitar Hero, Call Of Duty Annually
The newly merged Activision Blizzard has announced that they will be coming up with new games for franchises like Call of Duty and Guitar Hero “on an annual basis.”
This is a move that is quite similar to EA's strategy of publishing new versions of its titles each year. Meanwhile, EA has been criticized by many for failing to look into the quality of their games by focusing too much on being able to release new versions of their core titles.
Activision CEO Robert Kotick has revealed in a conference call that “[fans] can expect virtually every one of those properties (its 10 multi-million unit-selling franchises) will be exploited on an annual or close to annual basis.”
So from now on, do watch out for yearly releases for Call of Duty, Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk's game. The deal worth $18.8 billion between Activision and Blizzard will form “the world's most profitable games business.”
