ALL - PS3 Beats Wii In Console Sales In Japan

For the period ending November 11, Japan's Media Create has released its hardware charts results- despite the new Super Mario Galaxy, things turned a bit interesting.

While Nintendo DS and the PSP remained at number 1 and 2, respectively, the PS3 improved its fifth place and pushed itself up to number 3. Last week, the PS3 sold a total of 17, 434 units but in the period of November 5 to 11, it improved greatly with 55, 964 units sold in Japan.

As the PS3 rises above the hardware sales chart, the Wii and Xbox 360 were pushed further down. And interesting to note, there was a 20,000 units sold difference between the PS3 and Wii, as the Xbox 360 sinks to the 6th spot and the PS2 rose to the 5th spot.

Here is a complete lowdown on all the hardware sales figures in Japan for the week of November 5 to 11:

1.Nintendo DS = 78,884 units sold
2.PSP = 58,964 units sold
3.PlayStation 3 = 55,924 units sold
4.Nintendo Wii = 34,546 units sold
5.PlayStation 2 = 9,043 units sold
6.Xbox 360 = 5, 817 units sold
