ALL - PS3 Takes Top Spot In Japan Hardware Sales For September
Now that the month of September is over, the overall hardware sales for all consoles are being tallied. And Nintendo DS was overthrown from the top spot as Sony PS3 takes over the number one position for this month. With 310,000 overall sales unit for the month of September, this was undeniably a major increase in sales for the said console.
Critics point it out to the arrival of the new PS3 Slim model and the price drop for the console, which proved Sony has a strong showing for the pre-holiday months. However, Nintendo DS merely slid down to 2nd place finish, still proving its strength in sales.
On the other end of the spectrum, however, Nintendo Wii is struggling with sales, but many are keeping their eyes on the supposed arrival of Super Mario Bros. in the holidays.
