ALL - Solid Snake Sneaks PS3 To Top Of Japan Hardware Sales

Now that the software sales of Metal Gear Solid 4's first week in the market has been tallied, it was no shock when the PlayStation 3 console got the much-needed boost in terms of sales in Japan for this week.

The latest figures released by Media Create reveals that Sony's PS3 managed to sell 75,311 units during the period ending June 15. This is certainly a major improvement from the previous week, wherein the PS3 sold only under 11,000 units.

Besides PS3's success, Sony's handheld console, the PlayStation Portable also secured the second spot, therefore two of Sony's console ruled the hardware sales chart this past week. The PSP sold 64,675 units, not bad considering that it has always been consistent in the charts. Nintendo's own console, the Wii and DS, were able to sell 45,565 and 39,201 units respectively. Closing off the list is Microsoft's Xbox 360, after it sold about 2,163 units this week.
