ALL - THQ Confirms Cancellations
Game publisher THQ has confirmed today they are cancelling the PlayStation 3 version of Frontlines: Fuel of War. Word of this was given in the third quarter fiscal report released today.
According to the report, not only is Frontlines canned but also the PlayStation 2 version of Destroy All Humans! Big Willy Unleashed. In addition to that, THQ says they will not be pursuing their Juiced and Stuntman properties. Stuntman was specifically mentioned as underperforming following release on both the PS3 and XBox 360.
Two unannounced titles that had originally been scheduled for sometime in 2010 also had their release appended. This was due in part to the closure of Concrete Games Studios, which also went under the chopping block in the report. THQ's CEO and President Brian farrel stated these cuts were necessary to "strengthen [THQ's] pipeline and position [the company] to compete aggressively with compelling, high quality games."
