ALL - Yamauchi Talks Gran Turismo 4 Mobile- GT5 Connectivity

In a previous report, we have revealed that Gran Turismo 4 Mobile, the PlayStation Portable version of the Gran Turismo series is under way, but Polyphony Digital has just released a statement that Gran Turismo 5 is still their main priority as of the moment. And so, fans will have to wait a little longer before the Gran Turismo's PSP version could start development.

In a recent interview, Polyphony Digital's Kazunori Yamauchi has detailed some of the PSP-PS3 connectivity ideas for the PSP version of Gran Turismo. One of them is a feature that enables players to view replays of their racing experience. Another, which is quite an astounding feature, allows PSP gamers to compete with a PS3 gamer.

“Even though the visual qualities will be different depending on which hardware they're on it would be nice if we could allow for that. Technically, we think we should be able to,” said Yamauchi.

Yamauchi also talked about the Gran Turismo 4 B-spec, which is a race manager feature. Yamauchi further adds, “You don't even need to steer the controller, you just set the car and let it go; you're managing it. Another example would be the PSP would be your management tool: give it input and give it instructions and the car would continue on with the race.”

All these ideas and details are quite interesting, and pretty sure most fans are excited to see how it would turn out. But sadly though, it seems like we won't be hearing anything more as of yet as they are still gearing up Gran Turismo 5 for release. We'll keep you posted on updates as soon as we have them.
