PS2 - Banned UK Version, North American Rated M Version Of Manhunt 2 Identical
According to UK trade magazine MCV, the same version of Manhunt 2 which was rejected by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) in the UK earned a mature rating from the ESRB in North America.
BBFC spokeswoman Sue Clark defended the decision reached by the board, claiming that “Manhunt 2 is the second game we have rejected in 23 years.” She also said that the same process of classification is also done with movies. “I'd hardly call that draconian,” she adds.
“Manhunt 2 went beyond our guidelines when it came to gross violence and we had a public duty to reject it,” said Clark, in response to criticism made regarding BBFC's decision as 'unacceptable'.
The distributors of Manhunt 2 will now have to wait for the decision from the Video Appeals Committee to find out if the game can be released in the UK.

what the...?
how is that it gets passed by the americans but not us?
They need like a World Film, Television and Games classification agency. Ay that would be good actually, the WFTG.
I say we lobby for it to be made so it dictates exactly the same classification rules for everywhere :-D
Quite honestly, your BBFC is "a tad" more conservative (was tempted to say something else but decided to keep it polite) when it comes to what is/ isn't allowed for video game content.
If you are really wanting the game you could still import it from another PAL country or write the BBFC to voice your displeasure- no doubt there are a few doing this.
Yeah and I am really sure that the folk at the BBFC will be very willing to listen to us.
OOh looksy at that, a pig riding a flying Playstation 3, now that's very original.
Another great use for such a great console :-D lol
Seriously though, my vote still goes for a worldwide body that governs what's right and what's wrong in all types of tv, films and games.
Least everywhere would be equal that way instead of, in this instance, a game being allowed out in some countries but being banned in others, it's just completely and utterly just well not very good is it?
