PS2 - Brazil Enjoys Official Launch Of... PlayStation 2??
Yes, you read that title right. It's been nearly 3 years since PS3 first came out in the market and it is quite impressive that the 9-year old PS2 is still making its debut in Brazil.
If that is not impressive enough, wait until you learn about the price tag for the PS2 system in the country, which is at R$799, or an equivalent of US$465. This is about the same price as the 80GB PS3 model and two more games. One reason for this hefty price tag is due to the import taxes imposed in Brazil, which currently stands at 60%.
According to Kotaku, games in Brazil retails at around R$199.
