The racing legend that gave his name to one of the best series of Racing games on the PS2 died today in a helicopter crash just south of Glasgow in Scotland (UK). Colin has a pilots license and is known to use his helicopter for business trips.

Colin was the proud son of British Rally Champion, Jimmy McRae and his younger brother Alister McRae was also successful in this sport.
He won the WRC driver's title in 1995, and runner up in 96, 97 and 2001.
While Colin McRea drove for several car manufacturers during his career, he will always be known for the striking blue Subaru Imprezza 555 car seen below:
There is one thing doing this in a game, but this guy could do it for real. Just look at how the close the crowds are to the track and the size of some of those jumps !
