PS2 - Manhunt Banned Again
Following the rejection of the original version of the video game Manhunt 2 last June, the BBFC has rejected the revised version of the game, which is set to be released in the UK.
The distributors of the game has filed a motion to appeal to the Video Appeals Committee regarding the decision reached. The motion for appeal has been suspended while the revised version of the game was considered for classification.
However, David Cooke, Director of the BBFC has reasoned out that the changes made on the revised version of the game was not enough to address their concerns on the original version. “There has been a reduction in the visual detail in some of the 'execution kills', but in others they retain their original visceral and casually sadistic nature,” said Cooke.
Cooke further says, “We did make suggestions for further changes to the game, but the distributor has chosen not to make them, and as a result we have rejected the game on both platforms.”
