PS2 - Resident Evil: Outbreak Online Play Shutting Down
Capcom has confirmed that they will be permanently closing the online servers for their PS2 titles Resident Evil: Outbreak and Monster Hunter starting December 31, 2007.
This news comes shortly after the external company hosting the server for the said games pulled out of the PS2 online business indefinitely. Apparently, all the efforts made to extend the contract or move the host went down the drain.
As for Resident Evil: Outbreak, this will only affect North American and Japanese versions of the game. Earlier this year, Capcom also closed the online servers for the sequel, File #2.
