PS2 - US Senators Want Review Of Manhunt 2 ESRB rating
If you think you've had enough of the issue circulating around Rockstar Games' Manhunt 2 (PS2, Wii, PSP), think again. Just recently, 4 US Senators have sent a letter to the ESRB, asking the board to conduct a “thorough review” of the said game. Among the four senators who were signatory to the letter include Hillary Clinton, Joe Liebermann, Even Bayh, and Sam Brownback.
The letter, which was addressed to ESRB President Patricia Vance, says: “...we ask your consideration of whether it is time to review the robustness, reliability and repeatability of your ratings process, particularly for this genre of 'ultra-violent' videogames and advances in game controllers.”
The said senators also questioned the change in Manhunt 2's previous rating of “Adults Only” to “Mature” by the ESRB. They believe that this has made the game more accessible for a wider distribution. Aside from these senators, PTC were also demanding to change the ratings for Manhunt 2 into “Adults Only”.
