PS2 - Yakuza 2 Confirmed For September 9
As the PlayStation 2 portion of the recent E3 event was focused on games like SingStar or Lego Batman, several still believes there is a lot of promise for “hardcore” games on the PS2. Hence, a representative from Sega has confirmed that Yakuza 2 will indeed arrive on September 9 for both North America and Europe.
The iteration to this PS2 action game will start off where the original game (released back in 2006) left off, and players get to play as Kazuma Kiryu. Tokyo and Osaka will serve as a backdrop for the game and here, players can explore the goings-on behind the Japanese mafia.
Furthermore, Sega assures fans that this game will be twice the size of the first Yakuza and you can expect several enhancements such as faster loading times and “smoother camera angles.”
They also promise that the story of Yakuza 2 won't spell the end for the series. In Japan, a spin-off of Yakuza which is set 400 years ago has already been released for the PS3. A third game of the Yakuza series has also been confirmed.
