PS3 - Activision Confirms Commitment To Bond Franchise
Bobby Kotick, Activision CEO, has confirmed their commitment to bringing the Bond franchise to the gaming platforms soon. In 2006, they have acquired the license to create video games for the famous film franchise from Electronic Arts.
During a recent BMO Capital Markets conference, Bobby Kotick has detailed that “Bond if one of the great videogame franchises of all time and that really was a result of Golden Eye.” He further adds, “I think the key to re-energising the Bond franchise is going to be ultimately the highest possible game quality.”
Referring to two Bond titles previosly released by EA (2004's GoldenEye: Rogue Agent and 2005's From Russia With Love), Kotick has said that “it wasn't a focal point of Electronic Arts' effort”. Kotick believes that the film franchise did not achieve the attention it deserved due to EA's broad portfolio.
As for Activision, he has revealed that they are currently working on two Bond projects. Kotick said, “We have our best development studios working on the product, we have a second team working on another Bond product and we're putting great resources against it.”
