PS3 - Analyst Predicts Fewer Units For NA Launch
Those crazy analysts are at it again, and this one doesn´t have very good news if true.
Colin Sebasian of Lazard Capital Markets predicts the North American PS3 launch will not have as many units available as Sony promised. How much less? Going by his figures (using retail checks as a source) he expects to see a total of 150,000- 200,000 units total, a far cry from the 400,000 promised by Sony. Not the kind of news we want to hear this close to launch.
He estimates Sony would be able to sell a total of 750,000 units by the end of 2006 but also says disappointed gamers could decide to opt for the Xbox 360, given the demand for both the pS3 and Nintendo´s Wii, which launches November 19.
Now, keeping in mind the analysts have been wrong before here´s hoping this is the case again.
