PS3 - Ar Tonelico 3 Announced

In the latest issue of Famitsu, NIS has revealed that PS3 fans can expect the latest installment from the RPG franchise Ar Tonelico to hit the said console early next year. In fact, they went as far as confirming that Ar Tonelico 3 will be released in Japan on January 28, 2010.

For those who are unfamiliar with this franchise, it is actually sort of like an extension for the Atelier Iris games, which feature cute 2D sprites and RPG elements. The series is massively popular in Japan but failed to establish the same level of success outside the region. As of now, there are only limited details regarding this announcement but expect more details to come out soon once the release date draws near.

It has yet to be determined whether or not NIS America should decide to pick up Ar Tonelico 3. But given the fact that the first two games were released in the US, you can pretty much hope this one will too. More details soon when we have them.
