PS3 - Bethesda Staying Quiet On Fallout 3 DLC Exclusivity Deal
During the E3 event, several announcements were made, and among them is Bethesda's Fallout 3 downloadable content for the Xbox 360 and PC were announced. This no doubt had you thinking, “what about the PS3?”
If you came up with "nowhere in sight", you get it right. Lazard Capital Market's analyst Colin Sebastian smartly observes and posits that it could be that Microsoft paid a big lot to Bethesda so that the PS3 won't get a share in the DLC.
Several assumptions were made by market analysts regarding this matter, but there could be confidential talks going on that we do not know about in between Bethesda and Microsoft. If you can recall, Microsoft were able to secure exclusive online content for Grand Theft Auto IV.
Bethesda, however, has failed to make any comments on this matter, especially when it comes to talks of Fallout 3 becoming exclusive to Microsoft. Pete Hines, Bethesda's Marketing boss, said through email that “We aren't going to get into the details of the hows and whys..” Then he added that there are “other qualifiers or clarifications as it relates to the other platforms.”
Look out for Bethesda's Fallout 3 to hit stores this fall on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
