PS3 - Bionic Commando: Rearmed Rated
The upcoming remake of the Nintendo Entertainment System/ Famicom classic Bionic Commando, titled Bionic Commando: Rearmed, has been handed down its ratings by the various bodies that regulate this sort of thing.
Rearmed was given an M for Mature rating by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB), mainly due to the graphic nature of some of the key scenes. PEGI, which rates games for most of Europe, gives the game an 18+. Australia also gives an M raing while Germany gave it a 16. Japan, known for being somewhat more relaxed in ratings, has a B, meaning it is suitable for players ages 12 and up.
The developers of the game, GRIN, are somewhat disappointed by the decisions but felt they would rather honor the original game instead of "water it down" for the sake of a better rating. This, combined with the USD$10 price tag when released, will make it more difficult for the game to be profitable.
