PS3 - Blu-Ray Gains More Support Following Warner Announcement
We recently reported on the jump by Warner Bros. Studios from HD-DVD to Blu-Ray for future HD home releases. That announcement seems to have spurred more studios to do the same thing, putting even more strength in Blu-ray's court in this "format war".
It was announced today via an article in the Hollywood Reporter that New Line Home Entertainment plans to drop their support of the HD-DVD format in favor of Blu-Ray. US television giant HBO (Home Box Office) will also be making the shift to Blu-Ray, meaning some fan favorites such as The Sopranos and Rome will not be made available in HD-DVD.
