PS3 - Blu-Ray Support Grows, Nexflix and Best Buy On Board
The "battle" between HD- DVD and Blu-Ray for high def movie formats took another turn in Blu- Ray's favor yesterday. Netflix, the top online movie rental site in the US, has confirmed they will be phasing out HD- DVD in favor of Blu- Ray discs by the end of this year. The move was made after almost every movie studio has said they will support the format.
On the retail side, Best Buy has announced they will be recommending Blu-Ray to customers looking into the high def movie market. According to President and CEO Brian Dunn, "Because we believe that Blu-Ray is fast emerging as that single format, we have decided to focus on Blu-Ray products." They will still be marketing various HD- DVD products for those that prefer that format.
