PS3 - Capcom Brings Back Bionic Commando
How many of you remember the original Bionic Commando on the NES? It came out in 1998 and is widely considered one of the best games ever. What set it apart from other side scroller action games is the main character's bionic arm, which allowed you to grapple your way from platform to platform.
After laying dormant for almost 20 years (other than semi-sequels on the Nintendo handhelds) capcom has announced they are bringing him back for the PS3 as well as the PC and XBox 360.
The game is set well after the events of the original. After serving his country against the Imperials, Nathan Spencer is framed by hs superior officers and sentenced for execution. On the day this was to be carried out, however, terrorists detonate an experimental weapon in Ascention City. They have no choice but to ask Spencer for his help as his bionic arm makes him especially capable of traversing the myriad suspended roadways, monorails and skyscrapers.
Development of the game is definitely an international affair with the producer from the USA, a creative advisor from Japan and Sweden-based studio GRIN collaborating on the game. GRIN is best known for the PC versions of the Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter games.
Not much else is known about the game right now- as more information hits we'll bring it to you!
