PS3 - D3P Considering Appeal Of Dark Sector Australian Ban
Recently the Office of Film and Literature Classification, the governing body that gives the classification rates in Australia, refused to give Dark Sector a rating. This would effectively bar the game from being sold in the country. Reasons for the ban included the depictions of dismembering/ decapitating human beings with the various weaponry such as the signatur weapon, the Glaive.
D3Publisher says, however, their distributor for Australia is considering launching an appeal of the decision. "AFA Interactive, the publisher's exclusive distributor in Australia, is considering an appeal on the decision and will not rule out the eventual launch of the title with the OFLC's approval," said a spokesperson for D3P Europe.
On a related note, the British Board of Film Classification has approved the game with an 18+ rating without asking for any changes to content.
