PS3 - Details On Resistance: Fall Of Man Sequel
Fans of the PlayStation 3 launch title Resistance: Fall of Man may want to get their hands on the February edition of Game Informer magazine. They have some juicy details and photos inside for the sequel, expected to arrive late this year.
This time out there will be two offline campaign modes- one for single player and another for two player split screen action. That isn't all, however- up to 8 players can also go online for co-op play!
The competitive online modes haven't been forgotten- a number of improvements are being made here too. Up to 60 players can fight in a game at once. Now, before you start picturing what sort of mess that could be, some modes will pair up players into squads of 4 to 8 people each with their own private lobby. Squads will have to perform some unique objectives in order to win. To add to the mix several new classes are being introduced- Heavy Weaponry, Special Ops 9the long range sniper of the bunch) and Medic.
The enemies in the single player mode are going to get their AI notched up a bit and will react differently depending on how close they are to the player. Enemies in your field of view will also get a boost in their intelligence, making them a much trickier kill.
At least one new vehicle is added- the Chameleon. This is basically the Stalker from the previous game but with full cloaking ability.
Finally, the graphics in this are going to blow you away. While I can't offer any up here I can tell you tey are using improved lighting and shader technology along with more complex normal mapping and detail mapping to combine into what may well be the sharpest graphics yet on the PS3.
To top things off, myresistance.net (the official site for the Resistance: Fall of Man series) will have a dedicated gaming community for the game with dedicated stats servers to allow for faster (along with more even) matchmaking. Full-featured profile pages through myresistance.net will incorporate social networking concepts, open clan and party system to encourage community...no more player invites required.
We'll have more information on this as it comes in!

Now I've not hidden the fact that I'm not keen on FPS's, but I do like RFOL.
Cannot actually wait for the sequel. Was obvious there would be one.
Me and my bro will have a good time playing through that game.
