PS3 - DJ Hero Not Meeting Sale Expectations In UK
In the UK charts, Activision's Guitar Hero 5 has been selling well by debuting at number one and even managing to beat out The Beatles: Rock Band. A different case applied in the US though, wherein The Beatles: Rock Band emerged as the winner. However, the publisher's other rhythm game, DJ Hero, hasn't exactly lived up to expectations
This has even led Activision to concede to the idea that sales have significantly gone down for the music genre such that DJ Hero failed to hit the mark. Although analysts have predicted the said title would gain weak sales, it indeed proved to be true such that DJ Hero failed to even make the top 10 list since it was released. It managed to debut only at the number 20 spot.
Critics point to the high price point for the game as one reason, given that the game is priced at £99.99 for a bundle that contains a turntable controller. Meanwhile, the Renegade Edition for DJ Hero amounted to as much as £169.99.
