PS3 - E3 2008: $399 80 GB PlayStation 3 This Fall
The Sony Keynote at E3 today was filled with all sorts of items- this one more of interest to those having troubles finding the system altogether.
It was announced Sony will be releasing an 80 GB basic system for $399. In the annoucnement it was said this system would have "the current functionality of the 40GB PS3," according to Sony CEO Jack Tretton.
While it does sound good initially, it leaves me wondering about what they mean by "the current functionality". Is this new 80 GB going to lose the PS2 backward compatibility altogether? Removing the memory card slots under the flap? How many USB ports? Guess we'll have to wait to get those questions answered.
