PS3 - EGM Confirms Street Fighter IV Rumors
Street Fighter fans should be delighted as some good stuff is heading your way! And it is included in the Electronic Gaming Monthly's exclusive coverage on Capcom's Street Fighter 4 which will be out on their January 2008 issue.
In a full 11-page coverage of the game, we were able to dish out a few confirmed “rumors”: although Street Fighter 4 remains a 2D fighting game, this time it is equipped with 3D graphics. Isn't that great? The technical aspect of 2D fighting is still present, only now it is enhanced by the use of 3D graphics.
Still aching to hear some good stuff? Street Fighter 4 will run at 60 fps rate with a dependable camera view. The controls remain the same, and it was indicated in the magazine that the game's early version would feel like Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo when it comes to the controls.
Also confirmed as a main gameplay element in Street Fighter 4 is the “Saving” feature. This new feature enables pummeled gamers to return to the game by utilizing the new Revenge gauge to execute attacks that may not be so strong, but are completely unblockable. This feature “symbolizes the character getting angry from losing, and then channeling that rage into a last-ditch effort.”
As for the console on which the title will be headed, the devs are still undecided although they have hinted that they are not so keen on making this an exclusive. This is in keeping with their goal of distributing the game to as many gamers as possible.
That's just an overview of what the game's about. Make sure to check out the January 2008 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly to see the full details!
