PS3 - Episodic Content Coming To PS3
The start of some big announcements for Sony has begun at the Game Developers Conference, happening all this week in San Francisco, California.
SCEA Director John Hight announced today that episodic content will be coming to the PlayStation 3. Hight is responsible for some of the big changes at Sony including the development of Blast Factor ( the first PlayStation Store game) as well as the signing of thatgamecompany, the creators of flOw.
Release of these games is currently slated for mid- summer 2007. He didn´t say what the games would be but it was hinted that some would be more like episodic TV while others will take existing content and spread it around. In the end some of these future games could have hundreds of hours worth of gameplay. Whether they are worth the cash, however, depends on the quality of the games.
