Most, I´m sure, know about the connectivity between the PlayStation Portable and PlayStation 3 that was touted as one of the features of the new system. Unfortunately, it looks like this won´t be ready out-of-the-box.
According to Sony both the PSP and the PS3 will need firmware updates to get things working. In the case of the PSP that will be version 3.0 which is expected in mid-late November.
As for the PS3 it turns out that without its update you won´t be able to connect to the PlayStation network hub! Before anyone starts panicking this update will be available on day 1 and accessed through the System Update section under Settings in the cross media bar.
This will just be a minor inconvenience and only take a couple of minutes to do but still, it would have been nice to not go through that at all and have things in place as they promised.
I´m expecting to see a number of forum posting around the web about this after next weekend.
