PS3 - GTA IV Breaks First Day Sales Record In UK

Take Two Interactive was sure they had a hit on their hands with Grand Theft Auto IV, the first entry for the series on the PS3. How right they were!

According to data from Chart Track, the game sold a total of 609,000 copies in the first day alone. This beats the previous holder of this title (Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for the PS2) by well over 100,000.

Of those copies sold, 335,000 were the Box 360 version while the PS3 flavor sold 274,000.
