PS3 - Heavenly Sword Sequel Canned? UPDATED
Those of you that purchased and enjoyed Sony's Heavenly Sword may be a bit disappointed with this bit of news. It is looking as though the sequel may be no more.
According to a report from Kotaku, developers Ninja Theory supposedly got into a small tiff with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and the sequel, which was reportedly being worked on, has been cancelled. In this same report Ninja Theory is reportedly to be growing "increasingly bitter about their treatment at Sony's hands."
The rumor goes on to say that it got to the point where they are moving out of the Sony Cambridge studios. Keep in mind, however, that this is only rumor at this point until someone from either side can confirm the story.
UPDATE - It has been confirmed by Ninja Thoery that they never did start any work on a sequel to Heavenly Sword, contrary to what has been reported before. This was due to them wanting to work on a new multiplatform IP (intellectual property). Also, Sony owns the Heavenly Sword franchise so it is up to them who makes the sequel.
Regarding the moving out bit, it is true they are moving out of the Sony Cambridge Studio BUT there is no animosity whatsoever. The move is due to the studio having a new publisher for their new project, which is said to be moving along nicely.
