PS3 - Hong Kong, Taiwan Get Launch Date
Some news for those in Hong Kong and Taiwan. The PlayStation 3 will be launching in those countries on November 17, the same date as the North American launch. According to Tetsuo Yasuda, SCEA´s Asia managing director, the 60 GB model will be available on November 17 at a price of NT$17,980 (USD $534) and the 20 GB will be available in December at NT$14,980 (USD $452).
Yasuda figures the 60 GB model, despite the price difference, will be more popular due to the larger capacity and wireless capability. There´s been no word yet on a version of the PlayStation Network for that region as of yet. It is unknown at this time how many units will be shipped to those countries for the launch.
