PS3 - Konami Praises Retailers For Honoring Release Date On PES 2008
Konami had set October 26 as the official release date for their much-anticipated title Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (PS3, PS2, Xbox 360, PC), but a few indie and online retail stores in the UK have been selling them way before the intended release date. Therefore, Konami has praised the major retailers in the UK who “stuck to their guns and the launch date.”
Pete Stone, Konami's UK general manager, said “There were a few isolated incidents in response to the indie leaks, but I am very happy with the way retail has supported us.” He said that Konami condones the act of selling games before the launch date, as it creates anarchy in the market.
Stone is delighted about how the gaming public responded to Pro Evolution Soccer 2008, and how it managed to kick into the gaming charts just a few days after its release.
