PS3 - Konami Sorry For PES 2008 Online Problems
Konami, the developers of the PES 2008 title, has apologized to PS3 users for a recent server shut down. When players access the in-game lobby, they'll be greeted to a notification posted by Konami saying it was “glad to inform you everything is now running as normal.”
However, when playing a ranked match online, there is still some lag and slowdown at some point. Playing the Xbox 360 version however was a much smoother experience, although still has not gotten away with some lag.
Previously, Konami has announced that they will be coming up with a patch that will hopefully combat the offline and online problems suffered in playing this game.
Here is the full notification from Konami in the with regards the PS3 online game: “From 09:00 onwards on 26?10/2007 (BST), customers were unable to log-in due to server trouble. We would like to apologize for all the inconvenience caused. We are also glad to inform you everything is now running as normal.”
Gamers will just have to wait and see when this problem will finally be put to rest.

You see, FIFA all the way. They've got their slight problems with playing FIFA 08 online, but at least you can actualy play matches and have always been able to.
The offline mode is perfectly fine as well, no problems at all.
Konami have really messed it up this year. A good day (and year) for EA's FOOTBALL game then.
