PS3 - Lair To Get Control Fix?
When studio Factor 5 was working on the game Lair it was expected to be "the game" to truly show off what could be accomplished with the Sixaxis controller. Unfortunately, the controls ultimately hampered what could have been a true showpiece of the PlayStation 3.
There is a bit of hope, however- Factor 5's president Julian Eggebrecht made a statement that sounds like we could be seeing a fix on the way.
"If we find a chance in the future that would bring Lair to the audience which didn't get any access, that would be fantastic...I can't say anything quite yet, but there might be something in the works there. We might have a chance yet to bring those back to the table and hopefully, if that should happen, they would give the game a second chance."
He acknowledged the criticism the control scheme got from both gamers and game critics, as well as mentioned his own misgiving about it initially. "I hope that a lot of people realize that underlying the problem they had with the base control, there actually was a really good game there. That's at least what I think," said F5's president.
If there is one thing they have learned from this, it is to release future games with multiple control schemes to let gamers find one that suits them best. If we hear a confirmation that there is a fix on the way we will let you know ASAP.
