PS3 - Life With PlayStation Delayed, Being Merged With Folding@Home

Noah Rimon, Sr. Development Manager at SCEA R&D, took a few minutes from his busy schedule to post up an update regarding the "Life With PlayStation" application coming soon to the PS3.

First and foremost, the service will be completely free and accessible via the XMB toolbar. Life with PlayStation will feed live content to your PS3 with updates on news and weather on a visually stunning and interactive global map. While checking this out you can also play a custom soundtrack if you have some music stored on the hard drive.

One of the bigger bits of news, however, is that the app will be merged into the Folding@Home application on the PS3. While you are checking news or weather from across the globe you will also be helping researchers find possible breakthroughs on cures for Alzeimers, Parkinson's Disease and forms of cancer as it runs in the background.

That's all the information we have for now- we'll fire an update once we hear anything more!
