PS3 - New PES 2009 Details, Date Confirmed
The fall is the perfect season to get your dose of annual sports sims. Konami has just confirmed the release date for Pro Evolution Soccer 2009, which is on October 17 for the PS3, Xbox 360, and the PC.
The game will enable players to try out the UEFA Champions League mode, which features several Premier League club such as Liverpool and Manchester United. PES 2009 is distinctively the official game for the England national team. Aside from that, Wembley is also featured as one of the playable venues.
PES team leader, Jon Murphy, only had this to say regarding their closest rival, FIFA from EA: “[T]hey still have a long way to go before they can match the intuitive and absorbing gameplay of Pro Evolution Soccer.”
Aside from the licensed clubs, PES 2009 also sports new additions such as improved AI, new control scheme, improved graphics, and a few online enhancements.
PC Barcelona's Lionel Messi will grace the cover for this year's game. The PS2 and PSP versions for PES 2009 will follow after the release for other consoles and the PC version.
