PS3 - New PlayStation 3 Rumble Controller
Under the heading of 'we told you so' comes great news directly from the show floor at the Tokyo Games Show that pretty much leaks tomorrows official announcement from Sony about the feature we have all been waiting to have added back into the PS3 controller...
RUMBLE !
Some of the games on the show floor have the new joy-pad actually being used to demonstrate them. This means that they are almost ready to be put on store shelves.
Our contacts have revealed that the new PS3 controller is much heavier than the current model that comes with the Play Station 3 console, but its exactly the same size and design... with the addition of the word 'rumble' of course.
Better still, the rumble feature does not cause problems with the sixaxis movement 'tilt' controls, so PS3 gamers get the best of both features.
We don't yet know if the new PS3 rumble controller will be backward compatible with PS2 games, but to be fair, Sony have to have something to announce at their press conference tomorrow.
Now we realize that some gamers will be annoyed that they now have to buy a new joypad (if they want the rumble feature), but there are rumors that Sony may have an announcement that will put a smile back on your face.
Personally I think its a great idea and welcome the fact that Sony have been humble enough to work with the very company who recently sued them for 90 Million US dollars to rectify the only major step backwards between the PS2 and PS3 video game systems.

God, how many people truly saw this coming? It's about time too.
Sony, we all love you again now, lol.
I'm not too bothered if the new controller is backwards compatible with the PS2 games or not.
I wonder if it would be possible for games developers to release "updates" to games already out so they can use the rumble feature.
I guess that would take too much time to do wouldn't it as it would mean creating brand new code to update the game. Ah well, FIFA 09 I guess I'll have to wait for.
I wonder if, with then game being put back some, Rockstar will now add this feature to GTA IV.
I also wonder if, perhaps, that is a possibility why it was put back. I wouldn't be surprised. I bet they will "surprise" us by releasing that fact closer to the launch of the game next year. Ooh, and new MGS with it as well, now that WOULD be good.
