PS3 - New Resident Evil 5 Details
For the latest installment of the well-known survival horror series, Capcom will be dishing out more than your usual gang of zombies for Resident Evil 5. According to an article for a UK gaming magazine, it revealed some interesting features that the game has lined up for the fans.
Among those mentioned in the article, there is an unknown mercenary that will team up with Chris Redfield as he goes on his zombie-defying adventure. It could possibly be the two new female characters that was recently featured in Famitsu (one of them were assumed to be Claire Redfield).
With this new character, gamers will now have the option to play them during scenes with Chris. And with that being said, you can possibly join online co-op play. This new “jump in and jump out” feature is great for fans of the RE series who have long wished to be able to enjoy a regular co-op feature.
One other interesting detail about this new game is the return of the Mercenaries mini-game, which is an element present in the series' fourth installment. This new title will also be sporting a new “cover system” which has been used in most action games out there; you will now be able to duck and dodge simply by manipulating the right analog stick.
As what Jun Takeuchi has previously mentioned, Resident Evil 5 is set in Africa. Aside from that, the game will also feature characters from previous RE games such as Albert Wesker and Sherry Birkin. If that sounds exciting enough, wait till you see the playable flashbacks.
As much as all these details about the game's exciting new features sounds real promising, the game won't be released anytime soon. But you can most likely expect it to hit stores in 2009, although there has been a few rumors going about that this game might make it this year. So, you better hope that it does cause we're pretty sure you're revved up to try this one!
