PS3 - New Version of PlayStation 3 Uses Old Technology
Previously, it was reported that there will be made available a new 40GB PS3 model that is using 65nm chips and increasing cooling powers as well. If you find a hard time believing this report, a Sony spokesperson has just recently released a statement revealing a 90nm processing chips for the new PS3.
According to the same report, the PS3 will also be sporting a new design which has been modified for lower power consumption. As previous PS3 units would consume 180 to 200 watts, this newly revised design is prospected to consume only about 120-140 watts instead. This will definitely help you save up on both power and cash, right?
The implementation of the 65nm chips for Sony's PS3 will have to wait soon, and the 90nm chips will just have to do for now.
