PS3 - PlayStation 3 Cracks 100k Mark Down Under
During the recent eGames & Entertainment Expo, Sony announced that the Playstation 3 has surpassed the 100,000 mark in the Australian territory.
Apparently, the PS3 reached the 100,000 mark much sooner than the PS2 did in the same area. Some would credit the increase in sales of the PS3 to the price drop and the arrival of the 40GB PlayStation 3 unit.
As was previously stated by Konami, the battle of next-gen consoles will be determined not on a worldwide basis but on a regional level, as some consoles will appeal more to a certain demographic. If this would be the case, then it seems like Sony is establishing a pretty good hold in Australia.
But however good Sony might be doing in Australia as of this time, we can never tell what developments will take place in the future. It is just a matter of time before we determine that Sony will indeed dominate the Australian market.
