PS3 - PlayStation 3 Shows Solid Year-End Demand
The PlayStation 3 held strong during the year of 2009 in terms of year-end sales, since the PS3 120GB SKU earned a 281 percent increase in its sales going up to rank 22 in Amazon's Video Games division.
During the September price cut on the PS3, which reduced the console's price tag to $299, it managed to earn strong sales of as much as 440,000 units lasting until the Thanksgiving period and Black Friday. The release of Blu-ray disc titles have also helped boost the PS3 sales, especially during the holiday promotions.
In November, the PS3 250GB model sold at $349.99 and managed to sell up to 710,400 units in the United States alone.
