PS3 - PlayStation Network Video Download Service Premieres Tonight
We had heard some talk about the upcoming movie/ video download service coming to the PlayStation 3. What we didn't know was how soon the service was coming!
During the keynote address given by Sony today at E3 it was revealed the service will be launching tonight (July 15). The service will have videos for both rental and purchase, in both SD and HD formats. Pricing on rentals will range from $2.99 for SD to $5.99 for HD, with full-out purchases running for $14.99 for SD movies. It wasn't said for sure if HD- quality movies would be available for purchase.
Those of you wanting to take your movies on the go aren't left out. The same movies can also be copied to your PSP, either via the PS3 or the online PlayStation Store on the PC. Purchased movies can also be copied as many times as you like- if you wanted to take that download of Cloverfield with you, just hook up the PSP via USB, highlight the movie and copy it over.
The video store will be accessible via a new button on the top of the screen. Participating studios include MGM, Sony, Disney, Paramount, Fox and Lionsgate, among others.
